Product Description
Is your body under stress from a chronic inflammatory GI condition, recent surgery, or other physical strain? These and other stressors can deplete your supply of Glutamine, an amino acid that performs many vital functions. Under normal circumstances, l-Glutamine is synthesized by the body, but stressful conditions can interfere with this process. In cases of Glutamine deficiency, supplementing with l-Glutamine by Seeking Health supports:
- Protein synthesis & cellular energy
- Decreased Intestinal Permeability: Glutamine is the primary fuel of the cells lining the small intestine.
- Improved Intestinal Microbiota: Glutamine helps protect against pathogens such as Helicobacter pylori and supports beneficial intestinal microorganisms1,2
- Increased Immune Response3
Curious if supplementing with l-Glutamine by Seeking Health could benefit you? If your ability to produce glutamine may have been compromised by circumstances of physical stress, such as:
- Trauma
- Surgery
- Bone Marrow Transplantation
- Chemotherapy
Supplementing with l-Glutamine may help your body continue to function and repair under such stress. Seeking Health l-Glutamine powder is formulated by Dr Ben to be free from preservatives, allergens, fillers, and flow agents for patients with chemical sensitivities and allergies. One scoop of l-Glutamine provides 5000 mg. Because of glutamine’s high turnover rate in the body, supplemental amounts are well-tolerated and safe.

Questions on L-Glutamine Powder - 300 Grams
- L-Glutamine Powder4/24/12 2:36 AM
- I have a Leaky Gut and was advised by my Health Shop to take the above product in capsule form - which I open and put in water to drink I have found it contains Stearate which I do not want - I also am Dairy - Gluten - Wheat - and Oats intolerant
and would like to have you confirm that the powder is more suited to me.
My case history - 14years ago Mastectomy and cancerous kidney removed also have Chronic Leukaemia low reading (affects my immune system).
I only eat organic chicken salmon fruit vegetables and nuts -unable to digest seeds etc., not overweight do not take any chemicals -refused Tamoxifen and chemo believe in homeopathy and bottled water to drink. Wendy Hi Wendy -
The L-Glutamine Powder by Seeking Health contains only pure L-glutamine - nothing else.
I am happy to see you eating a healthy diet. Be careful with bottled water - it is potentially just tap water and the bottle may leach estrogenic chemicals. I recommend you consider a water purifier.

- MSG sensitivity5/2/12 5:05 PM
- Just wondering whether L- glutamine is safe to take if you have an MSG sensitivity. There seems to be conflicting advice and knew you would know. I am heterozygous for the a1298c mthfr gene mutation and am currently eradicating h pylori naturally. Thought I would take the l-glutamine for repair. Thanks, Liz
Hi Liz -
L-Glutamine is ok for those who cannot tolerate MSG. I personally cannot tolerate MSG at all and I do well with L-Glutamine Powder.
If you are working on eradicating H Pylori, consider the following suggestions:
- Microbial Defense: 1-2 capsules with breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Saccharomyces Boulardii: 4 capsules right before bed (at least 2 hrs after Microbial Defense)
- ProBiota 12 Powder: 1/2 teaspoon right before bed with the Saccharomyces Boulardii
- ZCG 500: 1 capsule three times daily before meals
- L-Glutamine Powder: add about 15 grams to a liter of filtered water and sip throughout the entire day
- Coconut Butter: cook with it
- Avoid all grains, tomatoes, coffee, chocolate, sugars, alcohol while working in eliminating H pylori.
These suggestions may help you support a healthy GI and stomach.

- L-glutamine 9/23/12 10:19 AM
- I am currently taking L-glutamine and some other nutritional supplements for gastritis i got from a medication i was on.
I have been getting a lot of involuntary anxiety can this be related to the L-glutamine? i read that L-glutamine can increase GABA production and if theres too much you can get symptoms of anxiety. Any truth to this & what do you suggest?
Thanks
Michelle Hi Michelle -
Taking high amounts of L-Glutamine may cause someone to have increased anxiety especially if they are deficient in various nutrients such as magnesium, fish oil and vitamin B6.
You have to look at the other supplements you are taking as well.

- I was wondering if I can take L-Glutamine while I am pregnant. I was told by my naturopathic doctor that I have a leaky gut from some food allergies.
Thanks,
Elisha Hello Elisha -
I would ask your naturopathic doctor about the safety of glutamine in pregnancy. I cannot answer this.
Addressing the leaky gut is definitely critical and I am glad you both are working on it.
Thank you

- L-glutamine and IBS-constipation dominated protocol4/20/13 7:13 AM
- Hi Dr Ben,
I want to take some supplements for IBS (constipation dominated) and possibly some leaky gut accompanying issues.
L-glutamine seems important. I'm already on probiotic and healthy diet ( gluten free, low carb, coconut oil, home fermented sauerkraut and vegetables, etc)
What else do you recommend as supplements?
What is basically your protocol for IBS (constipation dominated)?
Your generous support is appreciated.
Thanks Hello -
A low carb diet can possibly aggravate IBS if there is not enough fiber to help the stool move through the bowels. Do make sure you are eating enough healthy carbs such as quinoa, veggies, etc.
L-Glutamine Powder can be useful especially if taking 1 scoop and mixing in a liter of water - and drinking throughout the day. Taking it all at once may aggravate the constipation.
Other things to consider:
- 5-HTP: low serotonin levels may cause constipation
- Active B12 with L-5-MTHF: low folate and B12 levels are known to be an issue in those with IBS and constipation
- Pro-Digestion: inadequate digestive enzymes may be contributing to constipation
- Optimal Magnesium: low magnesium contributes to constipation and IBS
- PreGestion: inadequate stomach acid may contribute to IBS and constipation
Be sure to:
- limit drinking fluids during meals - drink before or after by 20 minutes or so
- chew chew chew
- eat while relaxed - not while driving or in a rush
