Product Description
Supplementing with prebiotic fiber helps beneficial probiotic bacteria survive and proliferate in your digestive system, where they work to support intestinal health and immune system function. ProBiota Immune provides a potent combination of galactooligosaccharides and beta-glucans that stimulate the growth and activity of beneficial intestinal microflora.
Benefits of ProBiota Immune:
- Galactooligosaccharides occur naturally in human and cow milk and promote the growth of beneficial Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species
- Beta-Glucans promote increased immune function without increasing inflammatory response
- Increased defense against pathogens such as Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Bacillus anthracis, and influenza virus
ProBiota Immune is hypoallergenic, can safely be used by children or adults and may be particularly suitable for infants, the elderly, or other persons with suboptimal immune function.
ProBiota Immune is designed for persons who wish to beneficially modify their intestinal microflora so as to improve gastrointestinal function and optimize their immune responses. This formula can be used by children or adults and may be particularly suitable for infants, the elderly, or other persons with suboptimal immune function. Galactooligosaccharides have been found in studies to foster the growth of beneficial Bifidobacteria in infants and decrease incidences of allergies and infections.1
Aging has been associated with a pronounced decline in bifidobacterial species, increased levels of potential pathogens and putrefactive microbes, and impairments to immune function. In a double-blind, placebocontrolled, crossover trial involving 44 elderly subjects, supplementation with 5.5 g/d GOS for 10 weeks significantly increased fecal Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus-Enterococcus populations.

Questions on ProBiota Immune - 150 Grams
- Probiotic4/10/12 6:24 AM
- Hi,
I have a son with a life threatening corn allergy. I am looking for a corn free probiotic. I would like to know a little more about your product. Allot of products that are corn free, most of the time corn is used in the process and supposedly removed at the end. My son reacts to corn if it's used in the product no matter when. I have a few questions before I decide to buy the product. I want to make sure my son does not ends up in the hospital.
Whats the carbohydrate growth medium for the probiotict?
What is the source of sugar you used to feed the bacteria?
How is the probiotic processed? Is there any corn, corn protein or corn derivatives use in the process before and after?
Is there any anti-cakings used in the probiotic?
Is corn removed at any time in your probiotic?
Is the probiotic produced in the lines were products with corn is used?
Are vitamins added to your product? Are they corn free?
Thank you,
Ana - Hi Ana - Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I was carefully researching this. All our probiotics are grown on a vegetable medium that completely excludes corn. All prebiotics are derived from beet root sugar and chicory root. The is no corn in the processing of the corn in the probiotics or prebiotics. There are no vitamins added to our probiotics or prebiotics. The probiotic and prebiotc is manufactured in a facility that does use some corn derived products. I hope this helps you. - Hi,
- Retention Enema Probiotic8/8/12 11:04 AM
- What is the best retention enema probiotic? Is a pre-biotic also mixed into the retention solution for best effect? Just purchased the PURE enema kit and coffee beans and would like to follow up with best probiotic cultures and recommendations.
Hello -
It depends on your symptoms and situation.
For those with inflammatory bowel disorders, I recommend you consider ProBiota 12 Powder along with ProBiota Immune.
This combination is quite useful for those conditions. Consider 1/2 teaspoon of ProBiota 12 Powder and 1-2 scoops of ProBiota Immune into the PurEnema Kit enema solution.
Use as directed by your doctor.

- Sources of the two prebiotics in Probiota Immune and Dosage for two-year-old 11/12/12 2:38 PM
- From what sources are the two prebiotics in this formula? Also, what would be the dosage for a two-year-old with asthma?
Hello -
Galactooligosaccharides - Bovine milk (verified allergen-free)
Beta-glucan - Purified from Saccaromyces cerevisiae (yeast) free of mannoprotein (yeast allergen)
Regarding the dosage, I cannot provide that. You will have to speak with your doctor. Everyone is different; however, I would definitely start lower than the recommended adult dose which is on the bottle.
Please look for potential food allergens - esp wheat and dairy products - all dairy - as these are common asthma triggers. Dust mites are as well. Be sure to get dust mite covers for the pillow and mattress and wash the bedding once weekly in hot water.
If the asthma is exercise-induced, then deficiency of vitamin B12, magensium and vitamin C are common causes. Given that this is a 2 yr old, there is likely not much exercise going on - but wanted to put this information out there.
Probiotics are also critical. Consider ProBiota 12 Powder and provide about 1/8th teaspoon after the evening meal. You may put simply right on your child's tongue as it tastes quite good.
The ProBiota Immune powder does not taste very good - so I recommend mixing in some applesauce with a touch of maple syrup.

- Confused!5/4/13 10:47 AM
- I'm confused, does this product contain prebiotics or not contain prebiotics? The supplement facts says "yes, that what this product is." But the additional facts say, "no, DOES NOT CONTAIN....prebiotics." WHAT?! Reading the description trying to decide, but so confusing!
Hello -
You are correct - this item does contain Prebiotics - that is what it is made from ;)
We have fixed the listing.
Thank you for pointing that out.
Best
