Why Zinc Carnosine Works

Zinc is considered by some to be the second most important mineral in the human body after magnesium. There are over 3000 proteins in the human body that have binding sites for zinc. Some of these proteins are enzymes that require zinc to facilitate reactions in the cells. Antioxidant enzymes such as metallothionein and super oxide dismutase rely on zinc. Zinc holds their structure in place. This allows them to facilitate the excretion and transformation of harmful metals and superoxide ions.†

Zinc plays an integral role in stabilizing other proteins called transcription factors. These proteins help to read portions of our genes. When these proteins are working, proper cellular function and cell replication occurs. When zinc levels are low, the “reading” or expression of certain genes may be slower.     Easy to take
