I decided to try this as I need help with gut detoxing and I can't stomach most powders and this one doesn't bother me and palatable, even though the flavor isn't great . I blend it in a food processor so it's not too powdery. What's frustrating is the lack of direction as far as how long you should take it to detox your gut ... a week? A month? Forever? But it also has a high amount of sugar, which I should have looked into before buying it as I need to cut down on sugar. As luck would have it, the product is being discontinued, so even if it does work wonders for me with just the one container, I won't be able to buy more, which will solve the added-sugar issue.
Optimal Detox by Seeking Health is a comprehensive fructose-free, low-allergy-potential dietary supplement designed to support gastrointestinal (GI) function, balanced detoxification, and a normal, healthy response to inflammation. Optimal Detox features Optimal Protein, Seeking Health's proprietary amino acid and pea/rice protein blend; Aminogen, to facilitate protein absorption; phytonutrients; mineral amino acid chelates; and activated B vitamins, including Quatrefolic® L-5-methylfolate and methylcobalamin. In conjunction with a modified elimination diet, Optimal Detox may help support healthy GI and hepatic function as well as eicosanoid balance and cytokine metabolism.*
Optimal Detox uses nutrient groups to provide targeted support for each of these systems. Glutamine, quercetin, Aminogen, MeadowPure® (organic stabilized flaxseed complex), and Preventium® (calcium d-glucarate) are combined to provide support for a healthy gastrointestinal system and digestive tract. Second, ellagic acid, watercress, NAC, and sodium sulfate work together to support healthy hepatic functions and the body’s normal detoxification pathways. Finally, curcumin, ginger, bioflavonoids, rutin, and niacinamide provide natural support for the body’s healthy cytokine balance. Available in naturally flavored vanilla powder.*

The good and the questionable
Thank you for writing the review. Yes, we are sorry this product is discontinuing. If you like it then we suggest buying a few to get you through the year before we sell out. As far as usage, we would like you to consider following the Pulse Method as outlined in Dr. Ben Lynch’s book ‘Dirty Genes’. This method recommends using a supplement based on your need for it, by tuning in to how you feel each day. Start with a partial dose and increase slowly over time to the full dose only if needed. When you start to feel good, reduce or stop supplementation to prevent taking too much and feeling bad. Then take again when you feel you need it (stressful day, traveling, etc), hence “pulsing”.
I hope this helps clarify and that you do get good results with it, while we still carry it.
Please reach out if you have additional questions!
