Who Needs Serotonin Nutrients

Are you looking to support healthy mood and normal mood related food cravings? Do you want to support a healthy response to stress or inflammation? Do you have a Fast MAOA gene?

Modern living can affect our mood. It has been shown that exposure to stress, harmful chemicals, as well as poor choices in our diets and lifestyles, can alter how we experience the world. Science is indicating that these things may decrease the levels of our “feel good” chemical in our brains called serotonin. Serotonin can be made in neurons and travels to receptors in the brain that help with normal feelings of calm and happiness.

Serotonin Nutrients is designed to support both the healthy production and function of serotonin. Healthy serotonin levels enable mood support.

Utilizing necessary nutrient cofactors, a patented saffron extract, curcumin, and inositol, this complex formula is a unique serotonin support supplement.

Serotonin Nutrients includes:

  • The essential nutrients (5-HTP and vitamin B6) to manufacture serotonin.
  • Support for a normal inflammatory response (Curcugen curcumin extract) and niacin levels so our body's stores of tryptophan can be used for serotonin production and not stolen to make Kynurenine and NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide).
  • A patented botanical called Safr’Inside™ that supports the maintenance of healthy serotonin levels all the way to the serotonin receptor.
  • Inositol to support healthy serotonin receptor signaling.

One of the building blocks to increase serotonin levels is the amino acid l-tryptophan. Tryptophan is the least common amino acid in the human diet.

Tryptophan competes with other amino acids for blood brain barrier passage.

In times of stress, the body chooses to use this limited supply of tryptophan to support a healthy stress response and healthy inflammatory response. This may contribute to serotonin deficiency. A highly bioavailable form of curcumin called Curcugen® is included in this formula to support a normal response to inflammation as well as serotonin production.

The niacin present in Serotonin Nutrients helps preserve normal serotonin production.

Not only is the primary building block of 5-HTP included, but also the necessary cofactor P-5-P is as well. Without adequate vitamin B6 in the form of Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate, the enzyme (AADC) that makes serotonin cannot function.

Once serotonin is made and passed into the synapse to travel to and bind to the serotonin receptors, a few things can happen. First, it can be degraded by the MAOA and MAOB enzymes. This is more common in people that have “fast” MAOA and MAOB activity due to genetic differences. Second, it can be taken back by the serotonin transporter and never make it to the serotonin receptor.

For centuries, cultures around the globe have found success in supporting a healthy mood with the herb saffron. Science is now explaining some of the functions of the chemicals found in saffron. The chemicals found in the patented Safr’Inside ingredient used in Serotonin Nutrients appear to both slow MAOA and MAOB as well as slow the reuptake of serotonin by inhibiting the activity of the SLC6A4 transporter. This transporter is responsible for recycling more serotonin from the synapse after it has stimulated the post-synaptic receptor so it can be used again. As a result, this saffron derived ingredient supports optimal serotonin levels traveling to the serotonin receptors.

Once bound to the receptors, the serotonin will initiate a signaling process that relies on inositol to carry out its function. Serotonin Nutrients includes this important ingredient to make sure the support for serotonin starts at the beginning all the way to the end.

If you are lacking adequate serotonin or mood support, you may find that you crave foods and behaviors that support optimal serotonin levels. This may lead to an increase in consumption of carbs and sweets and other addictive foods and behaviors. By supporting balanced serotonin levels, Serotonin Nutrients may support healthy food and behavior choices.

Maybe you have tried to take 5-HTP to support a healthy mood and it hasn’t worked. Why? It may be that the making of serotonin is not enough. The body also needs support to make sure that serotonin gets where it needs to go, and does what it is supposed to do.

Serotonin Nutrients supports both the kynurenine and serotonergic pathways. When the kynurenine pathway is slowed, and the serotonergic pathway is healthy, we maintain optimal levels of serotonin.

If you have been searching for a complete serotonin and mood support supplement, you have found what you are looking for with Serotonin Nutrients.

Customer Review

THIS IS INCREDIBLE!

This supplement has been a game changer for me! Whenever I am feeling a little down or not upbeat I take one of these capsules and feel rejuvenated. This is great for when you need that extra boost on those grey days. Really happy with this formula. Seeking Health, great job! ~Jason P.

Key Ingredients In Serotonin Nutrients

  • 5-HTP: Direct precursor for Serotonin
  • Safr’inside (R ) Saffron extract: Supports healthy levels of serotonin
  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxyl-5-Phosphate): Cofactor for DDC/AAAC enzyme that makes serotonin
  • Inositol: Supports healthy serotonin receptor signaling

Why Serotonin Nutrients Works

Maintaining a healthy mood can be tricky. The body needs to make specific chemicals that tell your brain that life is good. The primary chemical that is associated with a positive mood is called serotonin. Serotonin binds to receptors and transmits signals in the brain (aka neurotransmitter). It is derived from the amino acid l-tryptophan.

Through multiple steps, the body turns the amino acid tryptophan into serotonin. There are multiple nutrients that are necessary for this to happen.

Tryptophan is usually found in meats and other protein sources. However, proteins can be hard to digest and tryptophan is not overly abundant, with research showing that the common human diet may only provide as little as 1.5 grams a day per person.

If you don’t digest protein well or are not getting sufficient intake of tryptophan from your foods, support for your stress response, inflammatory response and mood may not be at desirable levels.

Even if you are able to consume healthy levels of tryptophan, it competes with multiple amino acids (isoleucine, leucine, valine, phenylalanine, and tyrosine) for absorption into the brain.

Then once it is absorbed into the brain, it may still not make it to becoming serotonin. Tryptophan has a few primary paths that it could go.

First, it can be incorporated into proteins and become part of many things including enzymes or muscle tissue.

Second, it can be drawn down the kynurenine pathway to produce kynurenine and niacin or NAD. This pathway is up-regulated in times of stress, oxidative load, and infections. It is also favored in the presence of a niacin deficiency. In fact, it can draw 60 tryptophans down the pathway to make 1 niacin and “steal” a large supply of available tryptophan. Serotonin Nutrients uses a unique highly bioavailable form of curcumin called Curcugen® to assist with a normal response to inflammation. At the same time, a pure form of niacin is added to support an adequate intake of niacin.

Third, tryptophan can travel down the serotonergic pathway and be made into serotonin.

There are multiple steps that need to take place in the serotonergic pathway before it becomes serotonin. The body has to change the shape of tryptophan by adding a hydroxyl group with the help of the enzyme tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH). That produces 5-hydroxy tryptophan or 5-HTP. The next step is the pulling off a carbon and two oxygens in a decarboxylation reaction to make serotonin. The enzyme that facilitates that reaction has two primary names, dopamine decarboxylase (DDC) enzyme or the aromatic amino acid decarboxylase enzyme (AADC). This enzyme needs pyridoxal-5-phosphate which is a bioactive form of vitamin B6.

Once serotonin is made, it needs to travel to multiple serotonin receptors to do its job. Unfortunately, there are a few things that can metabolize serotonin before that happens. There are enzymes, specifically the mono amine oxidase enzymes MAOA and MAOB that can break down serotonin. When people have a fast MAOA or MAOB gene, they may produce higher levels of these enzymes

The SLC6A4 gene makes the SLC6A4 receptor that facilitates the reuptake of serotonin back into the neuron from which it came. If you have a slow SLC6A4 receptor, you may not get as much serotonin signaling as required.

For centuries, cultures around the globe have found that saffron intake has supported a healthy mood. Recent scientific data confirms that a group of 25 bioactive chemicals called Safromotivines found in saffron may be responsible. They appear to have abilities to inhibit the MAOA and MAOB and SLC6A4 activities that transport and break down serotonin. The result is a significant effect in support for a healthy mood as more serotonin is able to reach serotonin receptors.

Once serotonin is bound to its receptor, inositol is used to signal the brain supporting feelings of happiness and calm. Serotonin Nutrients contains this important compound to assure that the signal is not lost in translation and that these positive feelings are supported.

Production. Synapse passage. Receptor signaling. All of the key aspects of serotonin support are covered in one complete formula. Try Serotonin Nutrients today and see what healthy serotonin levels feel like.

Take 1 capsule with food any time of day, or use as directed by your healthcare professional. Do not take within 5 hours of bedtime as it may interfere with sleep. Capsule may be opened and sprinkled on a bite of food if lower serving is desired.

Warnings

Do not use if you are using a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) or if you are pregnant. Children, lactating women, those taking psychiatric or neurological medications should consult their healthcare provider prior to use for specific healthcare advice. Do not use if tamper seal is damaged. Caution should be taken when using saffron derivatives while taking blood thinning medications. Please consult with your healthcare practitioner if you are on prescriptions for clotting issues.

Niacin Flushing: This formula contains niacin. When taken on an empty stomach, a healthy response to niacin supplementation may include mild blushing, warming, or tingling of the skin. This can appear on the ears, face, arms, torso, or occasionally on the legs. Commonly referred to as a "niacin flush", this harmless response normally dissipates within an hour. It is related to niacin's role in vasodilation (widening of blood vessels). Vasodilation leads to better circulation, capillary flushing, and increased blood flow to the surface of the skin. To minimize or prevent flushing, consider taking this supplement with food or in divided doses.

How to Enhance Serotonin Nutrients

1

Consider Pulsing

Dr. Ben Lynch recommends using certain dietary supplements based on your need for them. Start with a partial serving and increase slowly over time to the full serving, only if needed. When you start feeling good, consider reducing the serving size, skipping days, or pausing supplementation. Then take again when you feel you need it (stressful day, traveling, chemical exposure, etc.), hence "pulsing." Work with your qualified healthcare practitioner to determine what's best for you.

2

Pairs Well With

Vitamin D3 plays a key role in supporting serotonin synthesis by inducing the activity of the tryptophan hydroxylase enzyme. Lithium Orotate supports normal feelings of happiness and calm. Adrenal Nutrients support a healthy response to stress. Normalizing stress response may assist in tryptophan being available for serotonin production
