Optimal PC Softgels by Seeking Health provides 800 mg of phospholipids from non-GMO sunflower oil (containing about 15% (w/w) phosphatidylcholine) without the common use of soy. Although phospholipids can be found in a wide variety of foods such as meat, eggs, and soy, some individuals including vegans and vegetarians may benefit from supplementation. It may also become more difficult for choline to pass through the blood brain barrier with age.*
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) may help provide the building blocks of healthy cell membranes which may help maintain healthy brain function. PC is a precursor to acetylcholine which is a major neurotransmitter in both the brain and the peripheral nervous system. It is also important for cardiovascular support through maintenance of lipid metabolism. PC may help support healthy liver function by aiding in maintaining healthy liver cells and normal processing of fat and cholesterol in the liver. This may help maintain the normal detoxifying capacity of the liver. PC may help replenish choline in the blood after intense exercise, supporting healthy energy levels and normal muscle recovery.*
Optimal PC also contains two other types of phospholipids, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylinositol. Phosphatidylethanolamine is a key building block of cell membrane bilayers. It can be transformed into PC, but this phospholipid may also play a role in the assembly of membrane proteins. It may help support normal orientation of enzymes in the inner membrane. Phosphatidylinositol is present in all tissues and cell types, especially brain tissue. Derivatives of this phospholipid serve as messenger molecules with the nervous system.*
For a higher dose version of this supplement in a liquid format, consider our Optimal PC Liquid. If you are looking for phosphatidylserine, a compound derived from phospholipids in sunflower lecithin, consider our Phosphatidyl Serine.

My daughter has been going through a phase where she’s refusing pretty much all food sources of choline, so every few days she chews on one after breakfast, she thinks it’s candy and loves the taste. I also keep it around because it really helps with milk flow and avoiding mastitis, effortless breastfeeding journey so far!!
I like this brand because it has a complex that makes it more potent.
I was looking for a higher dose of choline since I am allergic to eggs. I have read that lecithin is high histamine so I was looking for pure choline that is soy free as I have a soy allergy. This appears to be just lecithin which is typically much less expensive.
Taking Optimal PC has helped improve my triglycerides. I can't take fish oils due to allergy, and the statins caused severe muscle pain. I take issue with pushing some of these prescription drugs, I seem to suffer horrible side effects. I question just how many people truly need statins, bp meds, etc... Modern medicine is more about prescription drugs and the revenue they generate in my opinion/experience. If you can find a natural solution by biochemistry--- the better off you may be.
