I found the flow charts extremely helpful. Unfortunately numerous SNP's included in the flow charts are not screened with SelfDecode, so there were several holes in the charts which limited its usefulness. However, when used in conjunction with Dr. Lynch's book dirty genes, being able to understand how SNP's work along with the related enzymes, I was able to enhance my understanding of the SelfDecode research and troubleshoot personal items. I was not a science major and knew little about genetics prior to using Dr. Lynch's program, but now am a little less ignorant. Another plus is that this saved me a TON on unnecessary supplements that likely do nothing and steered me to ones that work better (... with physician guidance).
Strategene - I was also frustrated with the upload process from SelfDecode (I had my testing done December '21 - so Strategene 2.0). The fix is to pull the 23andme txt out of the zip file downloaded from SelfDecode. When you drop this txt into Strategene's zip upload, it works fine.
On a separate note - after reviewing the txt file from SelfDecode, I'm not sure why Strategene couldn't design a simple program to convert other platform SNP files by using a simple find program to cut down the SNP file (if using WGS)... it didn't look that sophisticated given what I saw from other platforms.
