Product Description
Lactase deficiency? Tired of suffering bloating, gas, stomach aches, and other symptoms of lactose intolerance every time you eat dairy products? If you can’t digest lactose, Lactase Drops by Seeking Health is a pure and potent liquid lactase enzyme supplement that breaks down lactose for you, allowing you to enjoy dairy products whenever you want.
“Am I Lactose Intolerant?” If you experience any of the following symptoms after eating dairy products, you might be experiencing symptoms of lactose intolerance or lactase deficiency:
- Abdominal Pain
- Bloating
- Indigestion
- Diarrhea
How do I use Lactase Drops as a liquid lactase enzyme supplement to eliminate lactose intolerance symptoms?
Simply open the bottle of Lactase Drops and drop the liquid into the milk carton or any liquid lactose-containing product and shake. This way, you can make lactose-free milk at home for less money than buying it in a store and use your favorite brand. A typical dose is 5 drops per pint of milk. The lactase deficiency you have is less of an issue when using Lactase Drops.
One may also place the drops of lactase in 3 ounces of water or juice, directly on the food, in the milk or on the tongue just prior to, during or just after eating ice cream, yogurt, cottage cheese or any product containing lactose. This method is good for those who experience mild lactose intolerance or if they inadvertently ingested lactose and need to prevent lactose intolerance symptoms immediately.
Why choose Lactase Drops?
- Lactase Drops’ liquid format allows you to tailor the dose to suit your needs. No wasting money taking extra capsules or tablets!
- Laboratory certified effective and potent: 5 drops is enough to reduce lactose in 1 pint of milk over 24 hours
- Make your own lactose-free dairy products at home for less!
- Enables you to buy organic milk, organic baby formula, organic cottage cheese, organic ice cream or other organic dairy products and make them lactose-free!
- Allows you to make your own ice cream, yogurts, kefir or other diary products free of lactose right at home.
- Laboratory tested for molds, yeasts, fungi and bacteria for your safety
- Free of preservatives, flow agents and fillers.
- Free of common allergens like soy, wheat, corn, casein, gluten
- Glass packaging is free of BPA and phthalates.
- Sweet-tasting natural glycerin base does not require refrigeration.
- Safe to use in breast milk or formula (once mixed) and administer to lactose intolerant infants.
Lactase Drops are safe for all ages, and the sweet-tasting liquid is much easier to administer to lactose intolerant infants and children than foul-tasting lactase capsules or tablets. Lactase Drops contain a lactase enzyme that breaks down undigestible lactose into simple sugars. This is why Lactase Drops benefits those who have symptoms of lactose intolerance, are lactose intolerant or experience lactase deficiency.
The lactase enzyme is suspended in a sweet glycerin base that does require refrigeration once it is opened. Unopened bottles of Lactase Drops do not require refrigeration.

Questions on Lactase Drops - 0.5 Ounce
- malvarez4/19/11 5:20 PM
- Hello, this is my question about the lactase drops, my daughter is intolerant to lactose, she has diarrhea.
I'd like to give her formula with lactose and dairy products as a yogurt or soft cheese.
How many drops has to add to a bottle of 250 ml. or a cup? Customer service tells me to put 5 drops in 1 pint= 2 cups.
Has to put 3 or 2 drops?
Like she has diarrea in the third feeding of a formula with 20% of lactose, is it safe to put more drops as a prevention?
The effect of the lactase drops is safe for how many hours?
To drink yogurt, do you have to put the drops imediately and not store in the fridge?
Thank you.
Malvarez.
p.s. if somebody has the same problem, I'be grateful to receive any comments or response. - Hello -
Lactase Drops are very safe. The effect is long-lasting and permanent. Once you add Lactase Drops to any dairy product, it digests the lactose and this is a permanent digesting of the lactose. Once lactose is digested, it does not recombine to form lactose.
Lactase Drops breaks lactose down into glucose and galactose. This is why lactase enzymes make milk taste sweeter.
Read this about Lactose:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactose
You can add 5 drops of Lactase Drops to 1 pint of formula. If the formula is low lactose, then you may need to only add 3 drops or 2 drops. Adding 5 drops to be safe is fine and your child will have no side effects from this much extra lactase enzyme. You will only use the product faster. Given that there are over 90 servings at 5 drops per serving, that is a lot of formula so the cost savings is not worth ensuring that your child does not react to the lactose.
Thus, I would recommend you use 5 drops of Lactase Drops per pint of formula. There are 2 cups in 1 pint. Thus you would add 2-3 drops of Lactase Drops per cup. There are 2 pints in a liter or 4.2 cups in a liter.
You may add Lactase Drops to any form of dairy product: ice cream, yogurt, cheese, butter, cottage cheese, whipped cream, sour cream, skim milk. Stir the Lactase Drops thoroughly into these dairy products to ensure proper digestion of the lactose.
You may also cook with Lactase Drops. Simply add Lactase Drops to the dairy products in the recipe while preparing. I know many people using Lactase Drops to make their own homemade ice cream. It is working well for them.
For best effect and for sensitive individuals, you add Lactase Drops to any dairy product and let it sit 24 hours.
However, for less sensitive individuals, you may place Lactase Drops directly into formula or any dairy product and eat or drink it immediately. The lactase should still digest the lactose. I do not recommend this for sensitive individuals, however, as this method is not as effective as waiting 24 hours.
I highly recommend you give your child a 1/4 teaspoon of a infant probiotic called ProBiota Infant daily. Research shows that children taking a probiotic from birth onward to 6 yrs old and beyond have a 50% risk of developing asthma, allergies and eczema. This is a huge statistic and one that all parents, and doctors, should know.
Give ProBiota Infant directly in the mouth or mix in the formula. I prefer giving ProBiota Infant directly by mouth as you are sure it goes in. If you mix it in formula, then you are not sure if the probiotic stuck to the bottom, sides or perhaps the formula didn't get finished and is thrown out.
The side benefit to your child taking ProBiota Infant is that they will be able to digest lactose on their own in time. This means they will no longer need to supplement with Lactase Drops once they have the beneficial bacteria which does this for them.
After taking ProBiota Infant for 6 months, try stopping the Lactase Drops and see if she gets any symptoms of lactose intolerance.
I would not recommend giving your child or any child less than 6 months to one year old any cheese or yogurts. I would wait until their 1st birthday to avoid food allergies to these products.
If your child has ear infections, eczema or asthma, remove ALL dairy products. Lactase Drops does not prevent symptoms of dairy allergy.
I recommend you read the book, Is this Your Child, by Doris Rapp, MD. It is an excellent easy to understand book about children's health.
Should you have further questions, please do ask.

- Hello, this is my question about the lactase drops, my daughter is intolerant to lactose, she has diarrhea.
- Lactose-Free Milk8/10/11 12:23 PM
- Hello. I am especially sensitive to lactose and have seen success with lactose-free products. On the product description for the Lactase Drops, they are described as being able to break down 70% of lactose within 24 hours. How long would it take to break down 100% of the lactose? And is the dosage/serving size higher to do so?
This may be a lot to ask for, but would it be possible to direct me to a resource to see the stoichiometric function of the lactase-lactose conversion?
Thank you for your time,
Bradford - Bradford -
Your question is a great one.
I do not have an actual lab test for this so I would be guessing.
I do plan on getting lab tests for this as I want to know myself.
But - what I can do is provide some more information which will help make it clearer.
I have seen a graph of lactose breakdown by the lactase enzyme. The graph shows that the longer the Lactase enzyme is in the milk, the more lactose gets converted. There is not much gain after 60 hours. Most lactose is converted within the first 48 hours but does continue to get converted - just not as rapidly.
To increase the conversion of lactose to glucose and galactose, make sure your refrigerator temperature is set at a minimum of 39 degrees F (no colder). This allows the Lactase Drops to work more effectively.
I do not believe you need to have 100% conversion of lactose in order to be free of lactose intolerance.
Humans have beneficial bacteria in our digestive tract which break down lactose.
Well - that is we do have beneficial lactose-digesting bacteria in our small intestine if we take probiotics, do not take antibiotics and eat maintain a healthy diet.
I highly recommend you consider purchasing ProBiota 12 capsules and taking 2 capsules after dinner for a month. Then after a month, just take one capsule of ProBiota 12 after dinner as maintenance.
This way, you are actually helping alleviate one of the main causes of lactose intolerance which is lack of beneficial lactose-digesting bacteria in the small intestine.
ProBiota 12 capsules are found here:
http://www.seekinghealth.com/probiotic-supplement-probiota-12.html
There are three options:
1) Add a few more drops of Lactase Drops to the dairy product to get more lactose breakdown. The amount needed is purely based on your level of Lactose Intolerance.
2) Allow more time (say 48 hrs) for the Lactase Drops to work which causes more lactose to be broken down.
3) Take ProBiota 12 every evening to build up your lactose-digesting bacteria. This I highly recommend as you will not only notice improved lactose tolerance, you may also experience better skin, bowel movements, energy and reduced gas and bloating.
I hope this answers your question well.

- how many drops are safe to put in toddler's food?8/30/11 9:08 AM
- We have a 16 month old who has a lactose sensitivity/intolerance and are wondering how many drops are safe to put in her meals that contain a lot of dairy?
- Hello -
Lactase Drops are very safe.
It is always best to use as little as possible for a couple reasons:
1) Less burden on the child's digestive system
2) Doesn't suppress the child's own secretion of digestive enzymes
3) Financial savings
It is most effective to place Lactase Drops in any liquid dairy product and let it sit overnight. This way the lactose is gone by the time the child consumes it.
If the dairy is not liquid, then it is trial and error as lactose intolerance varies from person to person.
I would start with a couple drops of Lactase Drops and see how they do. If great, then try one drop. If you need more, then add more.
I also HIGHLY recommend the addition of ProBiota Infant for countless reasons - but the main ones:
1) Lactose intolerance may be reversed long term by providing lactose-digesting bacteria in the digestive tract. Giving 1/4 teaspoon of ProBiota Infant to your child after dinner is going to provide 10 billion beneficial bacteria which will aide in the breakdown of lactose.
2) 70% of our immune system - and your child's - stems from the digestive system. Probiotics create the bulk of that.
3) Probiotics reduce skin problems
4) Probiotics help absorb various toxins - such as BPA, lead, mold - to name a few.
5) Probiotics help optimize digestion which is key to a healthy formed bowel movement.
6) Probiotics help produce biotin which is commonly recommended to help eradicate Cradle Cap.
I look forward to hearing a successful outcome with your child.
A very important point:
If your child is getting ear aches, eczema, sinus congestion or rashes, it could be a dairy allergy. If you see this, stop using dairy products.
I highly recommend organic dairy products as well.

- How do I give my breastfeeding baby lactace drops?
- Congratulations on breast feeding! I love to hear that.
You may place a drop or two right on your breast before your baby latches. You may also place a drop directly onto your finger and then into your baby's mouth.
If you are using bottled breast milk, add 1 drop to a bottle of breast milk and then feed your baby.

- Are your lactase drops kosher?11/24/11 5:55 PM
- Hannah12/12/11 7:00 PM
- Dr Ben,
Do Lactase Drops have an expiration date? I am the only person in my household - and I don't know how long it will take me to go through 12 gallons of milk.
Thank you,
Hannah - Hi Hannah -
Lactase Drops are good until June 2012.
You can use Lactase Drops for anything that has lactose in it - cottage cheese, yogurt, ice cream, buttermilk, cream, cheese, etc
For the foods that don't allow you to mix in the Lactase Drops, simply place a few drops of Lactase Drops onto the dairy product and eat. This way you'll be able to process the lactose.
Have a Lactose-Free Milk party with your friends ;)
If you want to have some fun, make a video of that party and explain how Lactase Drops enabled you all to drink milk and eat dairy again and we'll send you a $100 coupon towards anything you like at SeekingHealth.com :)
My goal is to get people to stop chewing those nasty lactose pills as they are full of fillers and artificial flavors, colors and flow agents.
Have a great holiday!

- Dr Ben,
- Bottle feeding breast milk, how much lactase?2/13/12 6:23 PM
- Hi, I am bottle feeding breast milk. How many drops of lactase per oz of breastmilk do I need to use? Typically I pump enough for 2 feedings at a time. I then store that milk at room tempature and use within 5 hours.
What would the other dosages be for refrigerated and frozen milk?
Thanks! - Hello -
We recommend 4 drops per pint. A pint is 16 ounces.
So 1 drop per 4 oz is a good guide.
If you want to use it faster, then consider 2 drops per 4 ounce. I say this because the standard recommendation is to wait 24 hrs before using.
You can bypass waiting longer by simply adding more Lactase Drops.
1/2 gallon of milk = 20 drops
1 gallon of milk = 40 drops
Frozen milk we do not recommend because the lactase enzyme will not work well in freezing temperatures. Before you freeze the milk, add the Lactase Drops, wait 24 hours and then freeze.
Best
