Product Description

Optimal Multivitamin by Seeking Health is a complete natural daily multivitamin and mineral supplement containing more than 50 nutritional ingredients, all in a special base of green superfoods and organic fruits and vegetables.

There are no gimmicks, no shortcuts, only researched nutrients that can provide the body with what it needs to function optimally. Simply put, Optimal Multivitamin from Seeking Health provides the nutrients you need for optimal health.*

Optimal Multivitamin by Seeking Health has been carefully developed to contain the right proportions of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and other nutrients without danger of toxic build-up or other side effects. Since Optimal Multivitamin does not contain Iron, it is a good choice of multivitamin for men or women. If you are looking for a multivitamin for children, consider Kids Optimal Multivitamin by Seeking Health.

Each ingredient in this potent multivitamin formula is chosen with its absorption, competitive relationship with other nutrients, allergenic potential, and long-term safety taken into account. If your body is unable to absorb the nutrients in a multivitamin supplement, there’s no way your body can utilize them for optimal health.

Studies show that a high percentage of adults in the developed world eat less than the minimum daily allowance of 10 or more essential nutrients.* Adequate amounts and proper balance of these nutrients are essential for:

  • Healthy Immune System Function*
  • Cardiovascular Health*
  • Digestive Health*
  • Mood Regulation*
  • Energy Support*
  • Daily Detoxification Support*

Certain nutrients such as beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, and B-complex vitamins are included in high-potency amounts because of the vital roles they play in antioxidant support, energy support, the maintenance of healthy blood cells, the nervous system, hormonal balance, and more.* Minerals and trace elements are provided in the safest and most bioavailable forms, and the whole formula is encapsulated in easy to digest vegetarian capsules that are easier to absorb than compressed tablets.

Cheaper, less bioavailable nutrients in a multivitamin are most likely having no effect in your body, just draining your wallet.Try dropping your multivitamin in water - and come back the next day - your multivitamin should be completely dissolved. If it is not - then this is similar to what it may be doing in your body. This is just one way to test the quality of your multivitamin or minerals.

It does take eight capsules per day to make a complete serving. Some may ask "Are we Nuts?". In short, No! Dr Benjamin Lynch, ND founder and CEO of Seeking Health believes if you want to have an effective daily nutritional supplement without having to open 5 bottles or buy 5 other products, then you need to have a multivitamin with numerous capsules. This is more cost-effective, health promoting and convenient. If you go somewhere, make sure to take your Optimal Multivitamin, fish oil and vitamin D3, for daily nutrition and optimal health.*

Optimal Multivitamin by Seeking Health is also a potent antioxidant formula that includes natural beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, L-cysteine/N-acetyl-L-cysteine, lutein, lycopene, and red wine proanthocyanidins. This is an important addition to a daily vitamin and mineral supplement, since toxins in our everyday environment are as much of a factor in illness as nutritional deficiencies.*

Do you carry a version without glutamic acid? Glutamic acid is an amino acid that is naturally found in many foods and is needed to help produce glutamate in the brain. The amount of glutamic acid ingested from food is in the 1000’s of milligrams. The amount of glutamic acid ingested from our multivitamins is in the 100’s of milligrams.   Avoiding glutamic acid completely is not possible nor is it recommended. One’s ability to think effectively, to heal their intestinal lining and to produce glutathione are three abilities that will be affected in those who ingest only small amounts of glutamic acid.   If one is concerned about ingesting too much glutamic acid, then avoid these foods or seriously limit them: http://nutritiondata.self.com/foods-000093000000000000000-w.html   Supporting the body’s ability to convert glutamic to GABA is important. This is done using magnesium and vitamin B6 – and these nutrients are found in Magnesium Plus. http://www.seekinghealth.com/magnesium-plus-magnesium-b6.html

    • I see Optimal Multivitamin has 8 capsules per serving. I cannot take that many at a time. How do you recommend I take it?
    • I personally take Optimal Multivitamin and find it to be the most effective and manageable when I split the 8 capsules in 3 doses. I take 3 capsules with breakfast, 3 capsules at lunch and the last two capsules around 2 pm to prevent the afternoon 'crash'. If I feel well at 2 pm, I do not take the other two capsules. Taking 3 capsules twice a day with food is great and the last two capsules may not be necessary; however, in order to obtain all the nutrients on the label, I recommend the method of 3:3:2. One may also take 4 capsules twice a day. Given that the nutrients in Optimal Multivitamin are well-absorbed, one should not experience stomach upset when taking this many capsules. However, if one has a sensitive stomach, do the 3:3:2 dosing of Optimal Multivitamin. Never take a multivitamin within 5 hours of going to bed as it can keep you awake due to the potent B vitamin mix.

  • Making me ill 5/11/12 12:08 PM
    • I purchased your Optimal Multi a few months ago. I started out slow by taking 1 pill 3 times a day for only 1 day. The next morning I had diarrhea and threw up most of the day. It was pretty violent but only lasted 1 day. But, I was pretty weak for a few days afterward. I stopped the multi. A few days later, I had an appointment with my dr and mentioned that I was sick. She said it was probably the stomach bug that’s going around that is very contagious so I just thought it was a bug. But now that I think about… no one else in my family got sick. I wonder if it could have been from the Multi.

Do you think it could have been from the multi? I’m a little bit hesitant to try it again given what happened. I currently do take a multi (stopped it when I took yours). I take Dr Mercola’s mulit (not the one with the minerals that he currently sells). He had a multi without the minerals and just decommissioned it. Hence why I started looking for another multi and found your product. I tried Dr Mercola’s multi with the minerals but it made me nauseous. I realized that the nausea only came when I took the multi in the morning with coffee. If I didn’t drink coffee with it, then I wasn’t nauseous. I’m a little bit hesitant to try your multi again so I thought I’d check with you to see what you think. .

I’m hetero A1298C with hypothyroid (take synthroid 50), asthma (take pulmicort daily), have anxiety issues. I’d really like to stay with your product. I’m thinking about trying your Active b12 product. I asked you a question yesterday, 5/10/12, about which product to use to start off with 1,000. You replied that it’s okay to break the 5,000 pill into fifths or fourths. Instead of tying your multi again and potentially going though what I went through, I thought I’d check with you first. Also, in your presentation, I noticed you start out with methyl b12 and not a multi. What are your thoughts about getting sick from your multi? Any suggestions? Note that I didn’t want to post this question in any of your forums or on facebook because I didn’t want to post anything potentially negative about your product.

      Thanks,
    • Hello -

      Thank you for posting this.

Two things may be the cause here:

      1) There was a bug going around recently that caused diarrhea and vomiting - it hit my youngest boy out of the blue - then a week later - my wife - then a week later - me. It lasted 24 hrs.

      2) Your digestion is not up to speed which is why a multivitamin is not well tolerated.

If you heal your digestion and increase your ability to absorb nutrients, not only will you tolerate a multivitamin, but you will feel much better.

I would focus on healing your digestion right now -

I don't start with a multi as many of my clients do not do well with one out of the gate - due to typically poor digestion and/or sensitivity to many nutrients.

If you feel good, I recommend trying to take 1 capsule with breakfast - just one capsule a day.

The nutrients found in Optimal Multivitamin are high quality and easy to absorb as they are the active forms and chelated.

The only people that do not tolerate the multivitamin are those who are quite ill all the time, are sensitive to supplements in general and/or have inflammatory bowel disorders.

      Keep me posted.

      In health,

      Dr Lynch

  • Multivitamin vs. Prenatal7/31/14 11:35 AM
    • How come the prenatal vitamin contains folinic acid but the multi does not?
    • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Seeking Health regarding the Optimal Multivitamin and the Optimal Prenatal. Folinic acid is included in the Prenatal to reduce risk of methyl trapping and falling tetrahydrofolate levels due to decreased activity of MTR/MTRR. Folate is needed for normal embryonic growth and development, as it is implicated in DNA and amino acid synthesis. During fetal development, the demand on the mother for folate increases - many women become folate-deficient if they do not supplement with well-absorbed forms of folate, like folinic acid and L-5-MTHF. For most individuals (women who are not pregnant and sharing their folate supply with the developing fetus), the amount of folate as L-5-MTHF present in the Optimal Multivitamin capsules is sufficient. If you need additional folate, or prefer folinic acid to L-5-MTHF, the Optimal Prenatal can be consumed by anyone - pregnant or not, male or female. Alternatively, Seeking Health also offers a separate Folinic Acid capsule.

      Thank you for your time,

Thank you for contacting Seeking Health regarding the Optimal Multivitamin Capsules. The amounts of each ingredient in the Supplement Facts are given for one serving, or eight (8) capsules.

  • Vitamin K8/25/14 7:16 PM
    • I was reading a post from someone regarding Vit K, and if it was in the multi?
Vit K1 is no the essential Vit K that the body needs, especially women.
      We Need Vit K2!!!!!
This is what will keep our bones strong, etc.

Please make sure that the populous is getting the correct information!
      Thank you
    • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Seeking Health. We appreciate your close attention to detail. Both forms of Vitamin K are essential to the body - you are correct that the action of the Vitamin K1 is only significant for a healthy blood clotting system, while Vitamin K2 is the form implicated in helping to direct calcium into the bones, which is especially important for those who take supplemental calcium and for women who are at a higher risk of bone density loss. Most individuals who eat a healthy diet do typically consume enough K1 to provide for their blood clotting needs. K2 is harder to get in sufficient quantities from a normal diet. Our Optimal Multivitamin Powder and Optimal Multivitamin Plus contain the K2 form (as MK7). Thank you again for your comments. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
