I am compound heterozygous for MTHFR and though I have not had my children tested yet, I strongly suspected that at least one of them has the mutation. They both have Selective Mutism and one has S.P.D. and been...hard work! I started them both on this multi at the same time as I began the adults multi. One daughter doesn't seem any different to normal (she is easy anyway) but my eldest (6.5) is a completely different child. Her teacher noticed a difference in the first week. She is calmer, less anxious, has a lot more energy, doesn't have meltdowns any more, doesn't need an excessive amount of sleep any more. I love the fact that this is a multi with activated B vitamins-- keeps life simple. We worked very hard on nutrition, including taking fish oil and magnesium and probiotics, support at school, and our parenting, and this was the final piece of the puzzle to normalise her behaviour. She takes 2 at breakfast and 2 at lunch, her 4-year-old sister takes 2 +1. Thank you! (Posted on 4/28/13)

I am very happy with this product. I can mix the capsule powder with many things to get my 8 year old to take it. Since he is homogenous MTHFR, I love that he is getting all his necessary vitamins as well as some methylfolate. Thanks for this product. (Posted on 4/24/13)

I am compound heterozygous for MTHFR, have Hashimotos thyroiditis and gluten intolerance. All these things combined to create the perfect storm in my body over the last 18 months where I struggled to function as a wife and mother to two young children. I have put in a lot of hard work and tried many different things to feel better to see only incremental improvements in my health. I eventually started on folinic acid building up slowly and felt so much better the very first day. Over time I researched more and realised that although the optimal multi is expensive, it gives me most things I need in one product, and even with the international postage costs, if I buy in bulk, it still works out cheaper than the combination of other supplements I was on.
On the first day I started taking these capsules I noticed an immediate boost to my energy and mood and this has accumulated over time to the point where I now feel the best I've ever felt. I take 3 + 3 or 3 + 2 +1 if I think I might have an afternoon slump (though these are rare now!).
We have just begun the 5:2 fasting program and because I thought I might feel queasy on the capsules on an empty stomach, I didn't take my lunch time dose two days in a row. By the the second night I had a severe night terror (these started with my thyroid issues but hadn't had one since beginning these vitamins) and tried to push my husband out of bed to 'protect' him from something that was coming down onto our bed!!!
I now realise that this is what my body has needed my whole life and I will never stop taking them.
My only concern with these vitamins are the vegetable extracts in them and whether these could have a goitrogenic effect in anyone with thyroid issues. I do wonder whether the chewables might be a safer option for me in this regard? I am about to place a bulk order for 6 months supply to save on postage so if Dr. Ben is reading this then I would really appreciate some feedback on this. I already take DIM so am aware that perhaps these are fermented and maybe actually good for me?
Congratulations on a great product. I have recommended to several friends who have similar health problems and my children are thriving on the kids' multivitamins also. (Posted on 4/28/13)

I am newly diagnosed with mthfr 677t/1298c. I have been on 1mg of methyl folate successfully for one to one and a half weeks (felt amazing!). Then, I attempted to add another mg and became overmethylated. I took a two week break from folate then switched to this multivitamin in order to be able to start again below 1mg. Since starting the multivitamin, I continue to be easily overmethylated (even taking just .2 mg) and now have been getting irregular heart beats (rapid, heavy thudding, palpitations). I am now seeing a cardiologist.
Dr Ben, I do not think it is the product’s quality. I am just hoping you may see this and find a moment to give me any ideas as to an explanation. The heart stuff does seem to correlate to the taking of the multivitamin. I am not sure if it could be due to folate and all folate does or if it has to do with something else in the multivitamin. Any comment would be greatly appreciated.
I am 34. I have chronic neck and back pain issues, peripheral neuropathy, trouble concentrating and handling stress and emotions, and have a homocysteine of 13.7.
NOTE FROM DR BEN:
If one is experiencing symptoms of overmethylation, it may be wise to stop all nutrients which support methylation for a bit, including a multivitamin such as this. Consider Niacin 50 mg a few times a day for a few days before resuming methylation support again.

My 13 year-old daughter seems to be doing very well with the O.M.V., and I am grateful it is such a comprehensive formula. I had a very bad reaction during my first 2 days of use despite the fact I started with a low dose. However, I am challenged by some gene mutations, an auto-immune disorder and hidden inflammation so I understand why I can't take this right now. (Posted on 3/22/13)

Sadly my grandson does not take this multiple. Said it tasted horrible. Also while it is dairy, egg, soy, fish, etc. -free. It does not say it is yeast-free. Yeast is one of the biggies in allergens these days.
*Note from Customer Support*
This formula is yeast-free. We have updated the information since. Thank you for the input! (Posted on 2/28/13)

I was expecting a small chewable tablet and was disappointed because these tablets are too large for my preference other than that they are good. I wish they would make them smaller.
NOTE FROM DR LYNCH:
Thank you for your review! We will take this into consideration. We have them larger so one has to only take 1 to 2 tablets a day. If we make them smaller, then you or your child will have to chew more of them. We are always looking for improvements so your comment is noted! (Posted on 1/14/13)

I love the nutrients in this vitamin. My children are heterozygous for the C677 & 1298 A MTHFR mutations. My doctor instructed me to give them metafolin, methylcobalamin, increased B-6 & magnesium. This is the only chewable I have found that contains all of them AND is allergen free. My children do not tolerate gluten, dairy or eggs. It is hard to find a supplement with all of these. I only gave the product a 3 for Quality because my oldest daughter does not like the taste or texture of them. She has started hiding them everywhere instead of eating them. My son however absolutely LOVES them. He gets excited to take his vitamins in the morning after breakfast. Not sure about my youngest yet....she's only 1. Thanks Dr. Ben for this product. I wish you could make it in other flavors though. (Posted on 9/26/12)
These chewable multivitamin and mineral wafers are formulated to provide extra amounts of important antioxidants and B vitamins compared to most regular chewable vitamins.* Two tablets daily provide three times the RDA levels of vitamin C and E antioxidants, and twice the RDA for most B-vitamins. Added minerals in easy-to-absorb forms enhance the formula. A base of all-natural sweeteners and flavors is used. This new, improved formula now contains Metafolin®** L-5-MTHF.

Optimal Multivitamin With Iron by Seeking Health is specially formulated to provide optimum micronutrient support after bariatric surgery. Nutritional deficits can be common in pre- and post-surgical bariatric patients.* Poor dietary habits and commonly used medications can lead to nutrient inadequacies and compromise successful postoperative outcomes.* After weight-loss surgery, patients have unique lifetime nutritional needs as a result of altering the gastrointestinal system. Restrictive procedures reduce stomach capacity resulting in a severely restricted diet, food intolerances, and rapid weight-loss. Malabsorptive procedures reroute food, bypassing the stomach and a variable portion of the proximal small intestine, the primary site for nutrient absorption. In addition to nutrients to support wound repair, patients need to be supplemented with vitamins and minerals they can no longer readily absorb in the amounts needed to stay healthy.* Optimal Multivitamin With Iron by Seeking Health contains well-tolerated, highly bioavailable nutrient forms to maximize benefit absorption.
