  • High-quality source of choline from phosphatidylcholine (PC)
  • Supports healthy cell walls, liver, and brain
  • Supports healthy fetal development during pregnancy

Who Needs Optimal PC

Are you looking for a high-quality choline supplement?

The majority of your body’s choline is found in phospholipids, the most common being phosphatidylcholine (PC).

Optimal PC softgels provide 800 mg of soy-free phospholipids from non-GMO sunflower lecithin.

Optimal PC offers a convenient way to supply your body with the essential nutrient choline from phosphatidylcholine (PC). Each serving provides 800mg of phospholipid complex.

It is uncommon for our bodies to make enough choline to meet daily needs. Vegan and vegetarian diets, aging, exercise, liver conditions, and pregnancy present an increased risk for choline deficiency.

Food sources of choline include liver, beef, and egg yolks. However, most modern diets do not provide sufficient dietary intake levels.

Your cell membranes are like the walls of your home: they keep beneficial things inside (like nutrients), while protecting your cells from invaders. Cell walls and membranes can become weak and ‘leaky’ from a lack of choline in your diet.

In the body, choline is converted into the phospholipids your body needs for numerous functions.

  • Cell walls are membranes made primarily from phospholipids, mainly phosphatidylcholine. PC is required for strong membranes throughout the body.
  • Nearly half of your body’s methylation processes go toward producing phosphatidylcholine (PC)
  • PC is metabolized into choline to provide important methyl groups needed to recycle homocysteine to methionine. This supports healthy homocysteine levels.
  • PC is a major component of bile production and flow.
  • PC supports the normal repair of cell walls. This can support healthy histamine levels by keeping histamine inside of your cells. PC also provides methyl groups for the HNMT enzyme to metabolize histamine.
  • PC supports healthy liver function, protection, and detoxification.
  • Intense exercise can deplete choline levels. Optimal PC can help replenish choline levels, supporting healthy energy levels and normal muscle recovery.
  • PC is essential for optimal neurological and brain function. It is a significant component of nerve and brain cells and neurotransmitter signaling.

It can be difficult to achieve adequate intake of PC through dietary sources alone. Formulated by epigenetics expert Dr. Ben Lynch, Optimal PC makes it easy to support your daily intake of choline.

Optimal PC by Seeking Health provides choline via phosphatidylcholine (PC). Two additional phospholipids that promote brain and cell wall health are also included: phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and phosphatidylinositol (PI).

Optimal PC supports balanced:

  • Choline levels
  • Cell walls and membranes
  • Cognition
  • Brain and nerve function
  • Methylation
  • Liver function
  • Bile production and flow
  • Histamine balance
  • Normal repair of ‘leaky’ cells
  • Fetal brain development and genetic expression during pregnancy

Choline is required in higher amounts during pregnancy due to accelerated cell division. Many prenatals do not contain choline, or the amount of choline is negligible. Yet healthy choline levels are required for fetal brain development, methylation, and genetic expression. Pregnant women can support their dietary choline intake with Optimal PC. After birth, continue Optimal PC to support healthy lactation. For a high-quality prenatal containing choline, consider Optimal Prenatal capsules or Optimal Prenatal Powder.

Optimal PC was designed to help you support optimal choline and phospholipid levels in your body. For a stronger serving of PC in a liquid format, consider our Optimal PC Liquid. Start building healthy cells today with Optimal PC.

Key Ingredients In Optimal PC

  • Phospholipid complex: A concentrated complex of soy-free phospholipids including phosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), and phosphatidylinositol (PI). Supports cellular health, bile production and flow, healthy cholesterol levels, and liver health.

Why Optimal PC Works

Optimal PC by Seeking Health provides phosphatidylcholine (PC) in a convenient capsule format. PC supports cellular strength, liver and brain health, bile production, mucus production, methylation, and much more.

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a key structural component for nearly every cell and membrane in the body. It is the primary building block used to make cell membranes. Cells may become more ‘leaky’ due to a lack of phospholipids. Leaky cells can lead to a number of issues. Cell membrane integrity is necessary for optimal health.

PC plays a critical role in nerve and brain health. This is because nerve sheaths and brain cells require large amounts of PC for repair and maintenance. Essential for cognitive function, choline is a precursor to acetylcholine, a major neurotransmitter in both the brain and peripheral nervous system. Acetylcholine is used by the brain for focus, memory, learning, and planning. It is also critical for maintaining brain cell structure.

PC is important for cardiovascular health by supporting lipid metabolism.

PC also supports hepatic health. It has been shown that PC supports liver wellness and its natural detoxification function. For normal detoxification, the liver must continually replace its cells. Liver cells contain significant amounts of PC in their cell walls. In addition, by helping your liver process fatty acids and cholesterol, PC supports healthy detoxification.

PC is essential for bile production and flow. PC and other phospholipids are a major component of bile salts. Bile must be present in the intestinal tract to digest fats. PC is also required for bile to flow through the biliary system. The gallbladder requires 10 parts of PC to 1 part cholesterol in order for bile to flow. If there is insufficient PC, it is possible that bile may get sluggish which may increase the risk for gallstones. If you are not digesting fats well due to inadequate bile production, it will be more difficult to absorb PC from your foods. This can lead to a feedback cycle resulting in choline deficiency.

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is such an important molecule, that your body devotes almost half of methylation processes to synthesize it. You can support your body’s natural PC synthesis and methylation by supplementing with Optimal PC.

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is made by Phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase (PEMT). This enzyme adds three methyl groups to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE). It uses methyl groups from S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAMe) to carry out its task. In fact, this reaction uses more methyl groups than any other biochemical reactions in the human body. It is estimated that up to 45 percent of all methylation is dedicated to making PC via the PEMT enzyme! A slow PEMT enzyme can lead to a phospholipid deficiency, cell wall deterioration, liver issues, cholesterol concerns, and brain concerns . Optimal PC replenishes your body with phospholipids, thereby supporting your PEMT enzyme.

The production of PC can be slowed if there are genetic variants in your methylation enzymes. These can include your MTHFR, MTR, MAT1, or PEMT genes and enzymes. Methylation is further impacted when gene mutations are paired with a deficiency of important nutrient coenzymes and cofactors. These can include active forms of 5-MTHF (bioactive folate), riboflavin, vitamin B12, magnesium, zinc, and betaine (TMG). PC supplementation can assist in supporting methylation processes, especially in people with these genetic variants.

Optimal PC contains two additional types of phospholipids, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylinositol. Phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) is a key building block of cell membrane bilayers. It can be transformed into PC. This phospholipid may also play a role in maintaining normal orientation of enzymes in the inner membrane. Phosphatidylinositol (PI) is present in all tissues and cell types, especially brain tissue. Derivatives of this phospholipid serve as messenger molecules within the nervous system.

If you are looking for phosphatidylserine, a compound derived from phospholipids in sunflower lecithin, consider our Phosphatidyl Serine.

    Helps me sleep

I have been using this product for a couple of years, and new it was working. However, when I recently ran out and didn't take any for a couple of months I soon realized how effective it is. Without this product, I tend to wake up after about 4 hours and cannot fall back asleep for a couple of hours, and no one needs that.

    Improved cognitive function

I have definitely had a clearer head since taking these. I often suffer from what I call "Word salad", where I mix the words up in my sentences. I've noticed an improvement in my speech since taking these.
