Homocysteine Supplements

Homocysteine is an amino acid. Vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and folate help convert homocysteine concentrations into other compounds (like cysteine and glutathione). When you have elevated homocysteine levels, this can cause dysfunction with how the body handles inflammation. People who take too much folic acid (not folate), have vitamin B12 deficiency, or who have MTHFR polymorphisms may have higher blood homocysteine levels.
