Why I Formulated Estrogen Nutrients

Most estrogen formulas only address one piece of the puzzle. DIM alone. I3C alone. Calcium D-Glucarate alone. But estrogen metabolism is a complete process. If any phase isn't supported, estrogen builds up or converts to less favorable metabolites, and you feel it.

I designed Estrogen Nutrients to support the full scope of healthy estrogen metabolism

  • Production: Luteolin supports healthy aromatase enzyme activity
  • Phase I Detoxification: I3C and DIM support the 2-hydroxylation pathway via CYP1A1/CYP1A2
  • Phase II Elimination: Calcium D-Glucarate and Siliphos support glucuronidation by helping maintain healthy beta-glucuronidase levels. Molybdenum supports sulfite oxidase, which processes sulfur compounds from DIM and I3C metabolism. This is why some people get gas or headaches from cruciferous supplements.
  • Cellular Protection: BroccoRaphanin Plus delivers sulforaphane to activate Nrf2 and support NQO1 and glutathione activity. Riboflavin provides essential NQO1 cofactor support. Together, these support the natural reduction of reactive estrogen quinones.

The goal isn't low estrogen. It's balanced estrogen with efficient metabolism at every phase.

When to Take

Take Estrogen Nutrients with food for optimal absorption. Any time of day works based on your routine.

For Men on Testosterone Support

Testosterone naturally converts to estrogen through aromatase. If you're using testosterone support, daily use of Estrogen Nutrients can help maintain healthy estrogen metabolism and balanced hormone levels.

For Cycling Women

If you experience breast tenderness, PMS, bloating, sleep difficulties, or mood fluctuations before your period, consider starting Estrogen Nutrients approximately 10 days before ovulation. Stop on the day of ovulation to best support estrogen metabolism.

Why stop? After ovulation, estrogen naturally drops. Since estrogen supports healthy dopamine and norepinephrine levels, you don't want to further reduce estrogen when it's already declining.

Signs You May Need to Pause

If you notice low mood, poor focus, or difficulty concentrating while taking Estrogen Nutrients, pause for a few days. These can be signs that estrogen has dropped too low. Remember, estrogen supports dopamine and norepinephrine, neurotransmitters essential for focus, motivation, and stable mood. We want balanced estrogen, not depleted estrogen.

Monitor Your Levels

Because Estrogen Nutrients works through multiple pathways, I recommend working with your healthcare provider to periodically check your estrogen levels.

For the most useful testing, request an estrogen fractionation panel that shows:

  • E1 (Estrone)
  • E2 (Estradiol)
  • E3 (Estriol)

You want balanced ratios among all three. Your provider can help interpret results and guide your use accordingly.

Additional Support

For enhanced results, consider:

  • Fish Oil – Supports healthy cell membranes and Nrf2 pathways, working synergistically with the sulforaphane in Estrogen Nutrients
  • Optimal Magnesium – Supports healthy COMT enzyme activity, essential for estrogen methylation
  • Homocysteine Nutrients – Supports healthy methylation, the final step in estrogen clearance through the COMT pathway

Estrogen affects everyone differently, but the need for healthy metabolism is universal. For women, it shapes the monthly cycle, influencing mood, energy, breast comfort, and menstrual flow. For men, maintaining the right testosterone-to-estrogen balance is essential for body composition, vitality, and mental clarity. And for everyone, environmental estrogen exposures and the burden they place on the liver make efficient estrogen clearance more important than ever. Here's how Estrogen Nutrients supports each group through common hormonal challenges:

For Women

Struggling with heavy, uncomfortable periods? Estrogen supports uterine lining growth, and when levels are higher than ideal, menstrual flow can become heavier. By supporting healthy estrogen metabolism through multiple pathways, Estrogen Nutrients may help promote comfortable cycles over time.

Experiencing breast tenderness or fullness before your period? Cyclical breast discomfort is one of the most common signs that estrogen may not be clearing efficiently. I3-6™ and Ceti VI™ DIM support the CYP1A1/CYP1A2 enzymes that promote favorable estrogen metabolism. In a phase I clinical trial, women taking 400 mg I3C daily experienced a 66% increase in the favorable 2-hydroxyestrone to 16α-hydroxyestrone ratio [1]. Estrogen Nutrients supports healthy estrogen metabolism to support breast comfort during the menstrual cycle

Experiencing mood swings, irritability, nervousness, or weepiness around your cycle?Estrogen influences serotonin, dopamine, and GABA activity in the brain. When estrogen levels fluctuate dramatically throughout your cycle, mood stability can be affected. Supporting balanced estrogen metabolism helps promote stable hormone levels, which may help support premenstrual tension and promote even mood throughout your cycle.

Dealing with cyclical head discomfort? Fluctuating estrogen levels can affect blood vessel tone and neurotransmitter balance. By supporting steady estrogen metabolism, this formula may support stabilization of hormonal shifts that contribute to cyclical head tension.

Experiencing skin breakouts around your cycle? Hormonal skin changes are often driven by estrogen and androgen fluctuations. Luteolin Phospholipids support healthy aromatase activity [2], while Ceti VI™ DIM and I3-6™ support favorable estrogen metabolism. Together, these may help maintain clear skin throughout your cycle.

Concerned about supporting long-term breast tissue health? When Phase I estrogen metabolism produces 4-hydroxyestrone, it can be further oxidized to reactive quinones. Sulforaphane from BroccoRaphanin® activates Nrf2 and supports NQO1, the enzyme that reduces these quinones back to safer catechol forms [3]. Riboflavin serves as an essential cofactor for NQO1 activity [4].

For Men

Noticing unwanted softness or fullness in your chest tissue? Changes in chest tissue are often the first sign that estrogen is outpacing your body's ability to clear it. This formula addresses both production (Luteolin Phospholipids for aromatase support) and elimination (Ceti VI™ DIM, I3-6™, Calcium D-Glucarate) to help maintain normal male chest tissue.

Dealing with stubborn belly fat that won't respond to diet and exercise? Estrogen influences where the body stores fat, including the midsection in men. Supporting healthy estrogen metabolism may help support hormone-related body composition when combined with proper nutrition and training.

Noticing decreased interest in intimacy? Elevated estrogen in men can increase sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), which binds to testosterone and reduces its availability [5]. By supporting healthy estrogen clearance, this formula helps maintain the testosterone-to-estrogen balance that supports male vitality.

Experiencing low energy, sluggishness, or decreased motivation? When estrogen levels are elevated relative to testosterone, energy and drive often decline. Healthy testosterone-to-estrogen ratios are important for male motivation and focus. This formula supports healthy estrogen balance to help maintain natural energy levels and mental clarity.

Finding it harder to maintain muscle tone? Elevated estrogen relative to testosterone influences body composition and muscle maintenance in men. Supporting healthy testosterone-to-estrogen ratios may help support healthy body composition and exercise results.

On testosterone support and noticing your estrogen levels climbing? Testosterone naturally converts to estrogen through aromatase enzyme activity. In cell studies, luteolin decreased aromatase mRNA and protein expression in a dose-dependent manner [2]. Our Luteolin Phospholipids provide enhanced absorption for optimal aromatase support. Combined with comprehensive elimination support, this formula helps maintain balanced hormone levels while on testosterone support.

Wanting to support prostate comfort? Healthy estrogen metabolism is important for men's prostate comfort. Both estrogen excess and the accumulation of reactive estrogen metabolites may affect prostate tissue comfort. This formula supports multiple metabolic pathways for comprehensive support.

For Everyone

Finding that DIM alone isn't giving you the results you expected? DIM only addresses one part of estrogen metabolism. If your glucuronidation pathways are sluggish, or if beta-glucuronidase activity is elevated, estrogen can recirculate even with DIM support. In a clinical trial, Calcium D-Glucarate administration resulted in longer inhibition of beta-glucuronidase (five hours versus one hour) compared to other forms [6]. This formula combines Ceti VI™ DIM with Calcium D-Glucarate, Siliphos®, and additional compounds to support the complete elimination process.

Experiencing gas, bloating, or headaches when you take DIM or cruciferous supplements? These symptoms often indicate that sulfite metabolism needs support. When DIM and I3C are metabolized, sulfur compounds are produced that require sulfite oxidase (SUOX) for processing. We've included Albion® Molybdenum Glycinate Malate, the essential mineral cofactor for SUOX [7], making this formula better tolerated by those sensitive to sulfur compounds.

Dealing with bloating and water retention? When estrogen builds up faster than your body can eliminate it, fluid retention often follows. Calcium D-Glucarate supports glucuronidation by helping maintain healthy beta-glucuronidase levels, the enzyme that can unbind conjugated estrogen and allow it to recirculate [8]. This formula supports the elimination pathways that help your body process and clear estrogen efficiently.

Experiencing difficulty sleeping? Elevated estrogen can raise cortisol levels, which may interfere with the ability to fall asleep or stay asleep [9]. Supporting efficient estrogen clearance may help support restful sleep.

Concerned about environmental estrogen exposure from plastics, pesticides, and personal care products? Xenoestrogens from the environment add to your total estrogen burden. This formula supports the liver detoxification pathways that help process and eliminate both your body's own estrogen and environmental estrogen compounds.

Want to support a healthy response to reactive estrogen metabolites? When estrogen metabolism is incomplete, reactive quinones can form that may affect cellular health. BroccoRaphanin® provides glucoraphanin with active myrosinase to deliver sulforaphane, which activates Nrf2 and supports NQO1 and glutathione-S-transferase activity. In human breast epithelial cells, sulforaphane treatment reduced the formation of reactive estrogen metabolites by 60% [3]. Riboflavin provides essential NQO1 cofactor support [4].

Frustrated by single-ingredient formulas that don't address the whole picture? Estrogen metabolism requires support at every stage. This formula provides Luteolin Phospholipids for aromatase support, I3-6™ and Ceti VI™ DIM for Phase I 2-hydroxylation, Calcium D-Glucarate and Siliphos® for Phase II glucuronidation, Albion® Molybdenum for sulfite processing, and BroccoRaphanin® with riboflavin for a healthy response to reactive metabolites.

Looking for a formula with researched ingredients at effective amounts? We use Ceti VI™ DIM, I3-6™ Indole-3-Carbinol, BroccoRaphanin® (glucoraphanin with myrosinase for reliable sulforaphane conversion), Siliphos® (silybin-phosphatidylcholine complex), Luteolin Phospholipids (custom emulsified form for superior absorption), and Albion® chelated minerals, not generic alternatives at lower amounts.
