Customer Review

Active B12 with L-5 MTHF has everything I was looking for in one lozenge.

I’m very satisfied with this supplement as well as the company Seeking Health. I have checked many companies that sell supplements and Seeking Health meets my requirements for a qualified company to include research and quality ingredients. I love having a high dose methylation supplement B12 as well as folate. I am vegan and I’m not always able to eat enough of the appropriate foods to meet the appropriate doses of B12 or folate. I feel assured these needs are met with this product.

Key Ingredients In Methyl B12 with L-Methylfolate

  • True Folate: Features the methylated form of folate, methylfolate (L-5-MTHF) as Quatrefolic® (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, glucosamine salt. Methylfolate is essential for healthy methylation, fetal development, energy, homocysteine regulation, cognition, and much more.
  • Bioavailable B12: A mixture of ‘Adeno’ and ‘Methyl’ forms are included. These coenzymes support energy production and help utilize folate in methylation processes.

Why Methyl B12 with L-Methylfolate Works

Without sufficient levels of bioavailable folate and B12, methylation is not possible. Methylation supports nearly every biochemical process in your body by determining how your genes are read.

Methyl B12 with L-Methylfolate was formulated based on enzymatic pathways that are involved in methylation. Enzymes in these pathways require specific nutrients as cofactors. Arguably, the most critical of these nutrients are active and bioavailable forms of folate and B12.

Both methylfolate (folate) and methylcobalamin (B12) play a role in supplying methyl groups for methylation in the human body. Methyl B12 with L-Methylfolate provides folate and B12 in these superior, bioavailable forms to support healthy methylation and MTHFR genetic mutations.

Your MTHFR enzyme converts food folates into the active form of folate, methylfolate. This bioavailable form is also known as L-methylfolate. The true biochemical name is L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF).

MTHFR gene polymorphisms or lifestyle stress can slow down the MTHFR enzyme, causing folate deficiency. It is estimated that over 50% of the population has a gene mutation in their MTHFR gene.

By supplementing with the natural form of folate as L-5-MTHF, you bypass the MTHFR gene. This supports methylation by allowing folate to flow into the methylation pathway via the MTR enzyme.

Ironically, the artificial version of folate that is often prescribed to pregnant women, called folic acid, can further slow the MTHFR gene. This can even lead to folate deficiency! Folic acid is never included in any of Seeking Health’s dietary supplements. Instead, we use natural and bioavailable forms, including L-5-MTHF (methylated) and methyl-free folinic acid.

An important function of methylation is to keep homocysteine levels in normal ranges. Poor metabolism of homocysteine may lead to increased levels. General wellness and cardiovascular health are dependent upon maintaining normal homocysteine levels.

Methylfolate donates its methyl group to cobalamin (B12) to form methylcobalamin. This methyl form of B12 then acts as a methyl donor passing on its methyl group to homocysteine. This transforms homocysteine back into the amino acid methionine. The entire process assures that homocysteine levels stay in a healthy range. Complications may arise when either methylfolate or B12 levels drop, and the cycle does not continue at a normal pace.

L-5-MTHF also supports the production of important mood neurotransmitters. These include dopamine, serotonin, melatonin, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. This is how supplementation with L-5-MTHF can help to support a healthy mood.

Methyl B12 with L-Methylfolate provides bioavailable folate and vitamin B12 in a delicious, optimally-absorbed lozenge. It’s never been tastier (or easier) to support optimal methylation and energy!

    Noticeable difference

My husband has notice a big difference in how he feels when he takes this. We practice the pulse method, but one time he ran out for a longer period of time and noticed he wasn’t feeling great.
