CoQ10 (Formerly Optimal CoQ10)
- Enhanced bioavailability of coenzyme Q10 for superior absorption
- Antioxidant properties support healthy aging
- Supports heart health, cognitive function, and energy production
Are you looking to support heart health and optimal energy levels?†
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) has powerful antioxidant properties in the body. However, levels decrease as we age and with certain cholesterol-lowering medications. As a dietary supplement, regular crystalline CoQ10 supplements are known to be poorly absorbed.†
CoQ10 provides 100 mg of HydroQSorb® CoQ10. This form of CoQ10 provides enhanced bioavailability.†
CoQ10 provides a form of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) called HydroQSorb®. Both animal and human clinical studies show its absorption to be better than regular crystalline CoQ10.†
While normal CoQ10 supplements are lipid soluble, HydroQSorb utilizes dextrin spheres to surround the Coenzyme Q10 allowing it to have both water-soluable and lipid-soluble properties and thus increasing its ability to be both absorbed and ultilized by the human body.†
CoQ10 has powerful antioxidant properties in the human body. Its activity supports the body's healthy response to everyday oxidative stress. It also enhances the activity of glutathione, which acts as your body’s master antioxidant.†
CoQ10 also plays critical roles in mitochondrial function. It is the only nutrient directly embedded in the cell’s electron transport chain, which is the final step in cellular energy production. This process generates over 90 percent of your body’s energy.†
CoQ10 is well known to support cardiovascular health. Your heart muscle cells contain high concentrations of mitochondria, which require CoQ10 as a coenzyme for energy production. CoQ10 may also support normal heart rhythms, blood vessel function, and healthy blood pressure.†
CoQ10 supports healthy:†
Found naturally in your body, production of CoQ10 decreases with age. Older individuals are at higher risk for deficiency. Other deficiency factors include low dietary intake, vitamin B6 deficiency, genetic variations, mitochondrial or other diseases, stress, and statin medications.†
CoQ10 provides a well-absorbed form of CoQ10. Many forms that claim “enhanced bioavailability” may not provide uniform bioavailability. This means some people may absorb the compound well, while others do not. HydroQSorb® targets this problem specifically. Clinical studies have found it to be better absorbed than crystalline and solubilized CoQ10 in softgels.†
If you’re seeking even more energy support, consider our NADH+CoQ10, which pairs CoQ10 with a biologically active form of niacin.†

COQ10 has become a staple in my everyday health. I'm much sharper mentally when I stay consistent taking it.† Love the Seeking Health brand too! ~Erica L.
Every cell in your body requires energy to function. This energy is called adenosine triphosphate (ATP). It is made in the mitochondria of your cells by a protein called ATP synthase. Much like a water or windmill, this protein spins around when there is a high concentration of electrons around it. As electrons flow through ATP synthase, it attaches a phosphate group to ADP to make ATP (energy). Where do these electrons come from? Our food!
When food is metabolized, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are turned into acetyl CoA. This compound can enter the Krebs cycle to generate electrons. The electrons are delivered to the mitochondrial membrane by NADH and FADH2. Embedded in the inner membrane of mitochondria are four protein complexes. Collectively, these make up the Electron Transport Chain (ETC).
The job of the ETC is to take the electrons generated from food and create a constant flow of electrons for ATP synthase. The end result is the creation of over 90 percent of your body’s energy in the form of ATP. The first two complexes accept electrons and pass them on to an important nutrient called Coenzyme Q (CoQ). This coenzyme readily accepts the electrons and passes them onto the third complex in the ETC. After a few more steps, the enzyme ATP synthase completes the generation of ATP with the help of the electrons that CoQ10 delivered. Without CoQ, this entire process is not possible. CoQ10 is the supplemental form of CoQ.†
Certain medications are known to block the body's ability to make CoQ. Perhaps that’s why side effects such as weakness and muscle pain are listed on many statin labels. When levels of CoQ get too low, risk of fatigue, neuropathies, muscle pain, and exercise-induced complications may increase. Muscles and nerves need energy to function normally. The electron transport chain requires CoQ to produce energy in nerves, muscles, and nearly every cell of the body.†
Coenzyme Q10 supplementation provides your body with CoQ. CoQ10 has powerful fat-soluble antioxidant properties. It can assist in protecting the cells health and normal response to oxidative stress, especially arteries and vessels, thereby supporting optimal heart health. CoQ10 works as an antioxidant by donating its electrons to stabilize reactive oxygen species (ROS) like superoxide that can damage the fragile mitochondria. Because the cells of the heart contain a higher concentration of mitochondria, they have higher ATP requirements. Supporting healthy antioxidant status and cardiovascular function are two of the many beneficial effects of CoQ10 supplementation.†
Due to its fat-solubility and large molecular weight, CoQ10 can be very difficult for the body to absorb. While many forms of CoQ10 claim ‘enhanced bioavailability,’ these claims may not be true across the board.
CoQ10 provides CoQ10 as HydroQSorb® CoQ10. Clinical trials have found this form of CoQ10 offers truly superior absorption. Experience the difference that truly enhanced bioavailability can make with CoQ10 by Seeking Health.†
