They Work Great

These drops work wonderfully to get rid of the lactose in milk products that I love, and I have been buying them for years. Another plus - it's wonderful they are NOT flavored, like the tablets of other brands that overpower and ruin the taste of what is being treated. I will keep buying. Thank you! ~KBrett

Are you, your baby or kids lactose intolerant? Do you get indigestion, bloating, or gas from dairy?

Do you want to make lactose-free-style milk products at home?

Lactase Drops is an effective liquid lactase enzyme supplement. Add to dairy products, including breastmilk or infant formula to break down lactose. Enjoy dairy without the bloating, gas, stomach aches, and other symptoms of lactose intolerance or lactose overload.

Lactase Drops contains the lactase enzyme. This natural enzyme breaks down lactose milk sugar into simpler sugars that are easier to digest. For those who experience symptoms of lactose intolerance, lactose overload, are lactose intolerant, or have lactase deficiency, using Lactase Drops can life-changing.

While lactose intolerance is commonly understood, lactose overload is not. Many infants struggle with lactose overload which is extremely painful for baby - and parents as they cannot sleep or relax.

Feature Lactose Overload Lactose Intolerance
Definition Digestive upset from consuming more lactose than can be digested at once, usually due to overfeeding Inability to digest lactose due to low or absent lactase enzyme in the small intestine
Typical Age Infants (especially <6 months), often breastfed babies with oversupply or bottle-fed babies Older children, teens, and adults (rare in infants unless congenital or secondary)
Cause Too much milk too quickly; functional lactase overload, not a true enzyme deficiency Genetic lactase non-persistence, gut injury, illness or rarely congenital deficiency
Stool Characteristics Frequent, runny, frothy/explosive, often green; acidic, may cause diaper rash Loose stools or diarrhea, but not typically frothy or green; may be watery
Bloating/Gas Yes, prominent (lots of wind, tight/bloated tummy) Yes, prominent
Cramps/Abdominal Pain Yes Yes
Nausea/Vomiting Rare Sometimes, especially in older children/adults
Hunger Baby appears constantly hungry despite frequent feeding Not typical
Weight Gain Rapid or above average (due to large milk intake) Poor weight gain or failure to thrive if severe
Irritability/Fussiness Yes, often significant crying, unsettled behavior Yes, but usually milder
Timing of Symptoms During or soon after feeds, can be at any time of day 30 minutes to 2 hours after consuming lactose
Resolution Improves with feeding management (reducing oversupply/overfeeding) Improves by reducing or avoiding lactose intake
Other Notes Not a disease, but a feeding management issue; often misdiagnosed as intolerance or allergy True enzyme deficiency; persists unless underlying cause resolves

Regardless if you, or baby are struggling from lactose intolerance or lactose overload, it’s possible to support healthy lactose digestion by using Lactase Drops.

Lactase Drops have been lab tested demonstrating effectiveness in breaking down the lactose in dairy products. Instead of avoiding dairy forever (or eating it and dealing with the discomfort), simply add the necessary amount to your milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, cream, ice cream, cheese, or any other dairy products.

Lactase Drops are gluten-free, GMO-free, and hypoallergenic. The glass packaging is free of BPA and phthalates.

Full-term infants are born with the ability to digest lactose. Premature infants do not have the ability yet but acquire it quickly. That said, despite having the ability to digest lactose, infants are commonly overloaded with lactose due to getting too much breastmilk too fast.

Symptoms of lactose intolerance are pretty obvious to many. Lactose overload, on the other hand, is hardly even known about. I was unfamiliar with it until a mother informed me about it.

Lactose intolerance is genetically caused in nearly 90% of adults in Asian, Hispanic, African and Native Americans populations. On the contrary, nearly 90% of Northern Europeans tend to tolerate lactose all throughout their adulthood.

If you’re of Northern European descent and experiencing lactose intolerance, it’s more likely that your small intestine needs healing. The small intestine is where lactose digestion occurs so if this area is inflamed or injured, then the ability to digest lactose is greatly reduced. Crohn’s or Celiac disease are commonly associated with lactose intolerance.

The ways people use Lactase Drops vary tremendously. Here are some ways people have used it over the 10 years it has been around:

  • Add directly to any liquid dairy product, shake and let sit for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Add a few drops to infant formula or breast milk in a bottle, shake and then feed baby.
  • Take the bottle with you when you go out to eat or a friend’s house and use it there. Testing shows that 24-48 hours is needed for the lactose to be neutralized.
  • Want to cook using reduced lactose milk or cream? Add the Lactase Drops the night before to the liquid dairy product you are going to use. Shake and put into the fridge. Then, the next day, cook using that! All set!

Probiotics are known to support those with lactose intolerance by supporting healthy lactose digestion.

Specific strains, especially Bifidobacterium longum and Bifidobacterium lactis are researched to support lactose digestion. Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1 is also well known to digest lactose. Lactobacillus plantarum is moderately helpful.

You may find the bifidobacterium species in ProBiota Bifidobacterium.

The Digestive Enzyme capsules and chewables we have available also contain the lactase enzyme.

    Couldn't live without them!

Lactose-free yogurt is nearly impossible to find, and when I find it, there is no variety. I complletely depend on Lactase drops to treat the yogurt I enjoy every day.

    Best Lactase Drops

These drops are better than any lactase pills. I just put 1/4tsp in a half gallon of A2 Whole milk, let it rest for 24hours, and voila, lactose free milk. Since I've been using these drops, I've had NO issues.

The COSTCO A2 four pack costs less than buying four 1/2-gallon lactose free milk.
