Optimal Prenatal Capsules by Seeking Health provide a comprehensive prenatal formula with a unique blend of amino acids, chelated minerals, and vitamins designed to meet the high nutritional needs of women who are pregnant or preparing for pregnancy. While this nutrient blend is specifically formulated to support healthy fetal development and prenatal nutrition, Optimal Prenatal Capsules may also be taken whenever the supplemental need for a potent and pure multivitamin exists.*
This complex formula is made with careful consideration for not only the increased demand for certain nutrients, but also for digestive sensitivity that can occur during pregnancy. This product contains L-5-MTHF, the most biologically available form of folate, which is essential to support healthy cognitive development. Optimal Prenatal also provides folinic acid, a non-methylated form of folate that can be easily converted to coenzyme forms within the body. This optimal blend of folates may work in conjunction with amino acids, chelated minerals, and other B vitamins to support normal cell growth and cardiovascular, neurologic and immune health.*
Optimal Prenatal Capsules also contain two active coenzyme forms of vitamin B12: methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, which may help support healthy fetal development, energy metabolism and methylation. The well-balanced vitamin B complex is complete with active forms of riboflavin and B6, plus additional biotin to support healthy growth and development. Biotin may also help support healthy skin, hair and nails. Both vitamin B6 and ginger extract are special features of this formula, supporting digestive comfort.*
Vitamin A is included in two forms: beta-carotene and retinyl palmitate, to help support those who have trouble converting “provitamin A” compounds (such as beta-carotene) into the active retinyl/retinol forms. Vitamin C and coenzyme Q10 provide antioxidant support, supporting a healthy immune system and cellular integrity. Red raspberry leaf has historically been used as a tonic for pregnant women to help support circulation, uterine comfort and digestion. Trace minerals are included in their chelated forms, as amino acid-chelated minerals are typically well-absorbed and may be more easily tolerated than alternative supplemental forms. Betaine HCl is also added to support healthy digestion and optimize absorption of nutrients.*
Optimal Prenatal does NOT include iron as some women do not process iron well or do not need iron supplementation. If iron supplementation is needed, consider Optimal Iron Plus Cofactors; for a gentle, well-absorbed chelated iron.*
For those who have trouble swallowing capsules, consider our great-tasting, naturally flavored Optimal Prenatal Chewable or Optimal Prenatal Protein Powder – available in creamy vanilla or chocolate.

After doing a lot of research I chose the Optimal Prenatal formula because of its bioavailability, higher dosing backed by research, and its inclusion of certain key nutrients that other prenatals ignore. I haven't minded taking 8 pills in a day -- in fact, it's worked to my advantage. Each pill contains a little ginger and tons of B vitamins, which I've noticed help my first trimester nausea. I split them into several doses in a day! I also like that the formula includes a small amount of HCl, which helps the stomach break down and absorb the nutrients. Thankful for these as an "insurance policy" to make sure I'm getting all the nutrients I need, particularly in the first trimester when eating a balanced diet of real food is harder than ever.
I love these! I have not had ANY nausea my entire pregnancy and I'm pretty sure it's due to these (I'm a first time mom so I don't have experience with previous pregnancies). I recommend these to all my friends and I REALLY researched before purchasing these. I know a lot of people don't like taking 8/day, BUT the benefit way outweighs the inconvenience. I stopped taking a 2/day prenatal bc I knew there was no way my body was actually taking in the vitamins and I was probably just peeing it out.
I’m nearing the end of my pregnancy and I feel amazing! Every time I go to the doctors it’s always good news 😊💕 super healthy pregnancy! I’ll continue to take Seeking Health prenatals postpartum as well to give my body the support it needs to be in optimal health.
My midwife suggested this prenatal to me when I was about 11 months postpartum with my second and having some random health issues. After a month of taking these I saw major differences in my health! A few months later I was pregnant with my third. It’s been almost 2 years since then and I still take them. I’m 9 months postpartum with this babe and so happy with them still!
I wish all pregnant women knew about these prenatals. They have been such a life saver. I had hyperemesis gravidarum with my first pregnancy. And in this pregnancy I was feeling even worse than I was with my first until I found seeking health prenatals. Since I started taking them I have been feeling amazing! Healthier than ever. No nausea and no vomiting. It’s incredible the difference these prenatals have made. I am so grateful.
